Hello people! I'm trying to update a suse 9.1 machine to 10.1 (a 1.0 step ahead :). It is a dual Athlon with mixed scsi and ide hard disks. I'm booting from DVD (I need uucp and pure-ftpd :) and it starts ok. Once started I choose "Upgrade" and it barfs with an ugly error message that sends me to a non existing portal.suse.com html page (something that looks like susedb/en/2003/03/fhassel_update_not_possible.html; I can't read it well for the monitor is an old dying out Memorex Telex). It says that it doesn't like my disk configuration (though I can mount every partition under the proper path under /mnt from the startup disk by hand). My disk layout in /etc/fstab says: /dev/hda2 swap swap defaults 0 0 /dev/sda2 swap swap defaults 0 0 /dev/sdb1 swap swap defaults 0 0 /dev/hda3 / ext2 defaults 1 1 /dev/sda3 /var ext3 defaults 1 2 /dev/sdb2 /var/spool ext3 defaults 1 2 /dev/sda4 /dati ext3 defaults 1 2 /dev/hda1 /boot ext2 defaults 1 2 /dev/sda1 /pippo ext2 defaults 1 2 /dev/hdd /media/cdrom auto ro,noauto, user, exec 0 0 /dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto noauto, user 0 0 proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 # End of YaST-generated fstab lines Is there anyone who has seen such a thing? Many thanks in advance, luciano. -- /"\ /Via A.
