Well, I can't speak for the actual DVD, but it's in the ftp sources as version 1.2.3-6.1 (same version, different build) so you might try uninstalling the one you have and getting the package from an ftp mirror. You could also mount the DVD and look for it manually under <mountpoint>/suse/i586. I find it hard to believe it's on the ftp and not the dvd.

Dylan, thanks!! I found the build you recommended and it worked! Maybe the build from Pacman that I was using is too old to use with 9.3?? In any case, Audacity now opens and works. Many thanks for letting me know about the more recent build. :o) Gil
