Reading about qt3, qt4 and KDE4 speed lead me to writing this. I don't know if the thing I am writing about is general or not. But eg. if I use opera web browser with qt3 I can copy/paste directory paths in open/save file dialogs. In opera with qt4 I can not copy/paste directory paths, I have to select directories by clicking several times which makes localization of a directory very cumbersome. So if this difference is caused by qt3-qt4 difference I think it is a regression.
The Mozilla devs consider copy/paste directory paths in form file open/save dialogs to be a security problem, which they "fixed" in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=258875 I work around that "fix" by using FF2.x when I need the ability to use that now disabled function. I suspect what you see in Opera corresponds to what Mozilla did. If so, you'll need to direct your complaint to upstream, maybe like Gecko users have done in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374011 -- "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.
