Hi, I have a friend whom I'm helping make the transition to Linux (openSuSE 10.2). He has a 7100-series Blackberry he'd like to sync with that system. Searching with Google has turned up nothing definitive, but left me with the impression that it might be possible to use this device on Linux (I say that in part because a lot of the hits I got were not in English, so I was left with only a vague impression about what they said). So in fact there are two questions: 1) Is there a way to use a Blackberry 7100 on openSuSE 10.2? It doesn't have to be a stock solution complete with RPMs, we can build the software if necessary (and if it's open source). Ideally integration with the KDE PIM software (KOrganizer, KAddressBook, etc.) is what he's looking for, especially since he's adopted KMail, but something stand-alone might be acceptable. 2) Does anyone know if VMware intends to adapt their software (specifically, VMware Server) to accommodate the USB changes that first appeared in openSuSE 10.2 and that rendered all USB devices unusable in VMware guest VMs? (I'm aware of the option to rebuild a kernel with the requisite USB support reenabled, and we'll do that if necessary.) Thanks.
