I know that openSUSE 12.3 is not supported, but I tried to open the following link in Firefox 34.0.5 on that platform and it said:
Your browser is not compatible with Google Maps v3.
The reason this is happening is because the Google Maps API code is not being loaded by your browser. The openSUSE page is using HTTPS but the JavaScript for the API is being fetched over a unencrypted HTTP connection. Some browsers allow mixed content, others reject the ability to load the content on an HTTPS page from an unencrypted HTTP connection. Usually static content such as images and embedded audio/video will load since they do not have the ability to influence other content of the page. JavaScript on the other hand can alter page contents, so it is usually blocked by browsers which have strict rules about mixed content. I'm emailing the webmaster about this problem.
