No, in fact, I haven't rebooted. It just happened again. I noticed that my flash plugins were missing and then restarted FF. I'm now on 3.0.6, where I was on 3.0.5 earlier.
How can two versions be installed at the same time without me being notified?

I don't think that's possible unless you put them into different folders/locations... Or one user has it in his home directory installed somehow... But I think your fine right now on 3.0.6; try rebooting and see what happens, if you're still on 3.0.6 great!!! Otherwise, reply back and tell whether it worked or not...
