Hey guys! I'm using the k_dflt kernels on all of my machines right now, but 2 of the machines are AMD Duron machines. Would I gain any performance by using the k_ath (Athlon) SuSE kernels? Should I be using them? I know the Duron isn't an Athlon, but since they're both AMD... :-)
Thanks!

Hey Jonathon, I just recompiled a kernel, it was my first time, and can't say for sure if it actually compiled the 2.4.19 rpm I downloaded or if it was the stock .0 SuSE kernel, but anyway, I compiled it for the athlon, and mine does seem a good deal peppier, but I guess that doesn't answer if it'll work on the duron though, sorry, but thought maybe at least this might be enough to let you think it'd be worth the try. It took quite a while (mainly because I didn't know exactly everything I needed/wanted or what should be modules and what not, etc., and because something I did on the first try goofed up and had to start over, heh heh...but it was fun!), but works and like I say, my athlon 1.3 seems to be getting things done a good bit faster now.
