Hi guys, I am really having trouble getting the Nvidia drivers to work in Suse 8.2 with 3d enabled.
I recently upgraded my 8.2 box to a soyo kt400 board and was also having Trouble with the nvidia drivers, there have been many posts in this months archive as well as last month, which gave me a lot of clues as to what to Try, what eventually worked was building a 2.4.22 kernel AND passing the NvAGP=0 option to the card in Sax2, also turning off acpci in the bios seemed to resolve some issue with the new kernel, not sure yet if it really made a difference w/agp tho............everything worked fine on my old tyan mb so I think the problem was the new kt400 agp stuff, the patches that were Done to the agp stuff in 2.4.22 worked, (kernel coders rock!).....unfortunately, after much searching I didn't find any pre-compiled suse kernels, so it will take some work, but read the archives first and see if some of the easier stuff works.......YMMV

I had tried the NvAGP parameter before but to no avail. However!! I just tried turning off acpi in the bios and 3d now works!! thanks don you made my five year old daughter happy as she can play tuxracer again :) Cheers, Glenn
