Hi all,
I was poking around my linux system and found this at the top of boot.msg in /var/log
Inspecting /boot/System.map Symbol table has incorrect version number
It doesn't seem to be harming the system just wondering what the hell it is!
No, it doesn't harm. Acutally, it does harm but only in case of a kernel panic. If you compile the kernel with "make zlilo" the make process should take care of copying the correct System.map over. I take you compiled a kernel and copied the new kernel manually ot /boot?
