Are there any hints, why I run into the trouble (kernel-panic)?
I don't think so as long as you don't tell us the reason for the kernel panic. What error messages do you see?
my problem is, that I had no screenshot or output of this kernel-panic. I remember only that it stops by reading the boot-partition of 9.3.
Do you use beta1 or beta2?
Beta 1.
I remember some grub related reports in beta1 (not all fixed yet), so please search for them on https://bugzilla.novell.com
I had a look to bugzilla. There are three bugs with parted; also with beta2.
If you have the YaST logs from the installation and your problem isn't in bugzilla yet, open a bugreport and append them. (If you don't have the logs, boot from CD again, try to reproduce the parted problem and, if "successful", save the y2logs [Shift-F8 IIRC])
I had submitted a bugreport and the yast2log of my installation from tuesday: Bug 105612. Regards, Andreas -- ## Content Developer OpenOffice.org: lang/DE ## Freie Office-Suite für Linux, Mac, Windows, Solaris ## http://de.openoffice.org ## Meine Seite http://www.amantke.de
