It's not like it is set in stone and it is trivial to change so what's your point exactly? If you think it should have better coverage in release notes or that defaults should be changed - open bug report.
I know, I probably will. Until I do, it seems reasonable to discuss it and see what other people think. (perhaps that should have been done it was changed ...)
