No I have not compiled it right into the kernel. I use reiserfs and I know since reiser is not directly in the kernel except for suse stock kernel I don't even want to go thru that trouble.since I use reiser I am waiting for it to make it into 2.4 before I ever attempt a kernel recompile because its just not worth the pain it may cause me.

Have you ever tried to compile the ES1371 support directly in your kernel?
