You might try "fdisk /dev/hda" assuming hda is your windows drive. You can then type "p" to see the partition table (type "m" to see all the commands) and look to see if any of your windows partitions are "hidden". For reference go to: http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/hidden_fat.html http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/fhassel_windows_not_booting2.html Hope that helps... Windows is like that. -----Original Message----- From: michael norman [mailto:michaeltnorman@ntlworld.com] Sent: Sunday, January 19, 2003 12:41 AM To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: [SLE] Grub won't go Hi I have a dual boot system with two hard drives. W98 is on the first and SuSE 8.0 (at the moment) on the second. I was using 8,1 but for a few reasons decided to revert to 8.0. My problem is that having reinstalled both w98 and 8,0 I cannot boot either directly. What happens is that on boot the word GRUB appears and I cannot get any further. I can boot by using either the w98 or SuSE install discs ether of which will get me ti Lilo if i use the boot from hard disc option. Lilo is, or should be installed on the mbr of the first drive. I have tried fdisk/mbr from DOS but it made no difference. Can anybody suggest what else to try ?
