[SLE] powerpoint (ugh)

Hi, Am frequently asked to prepare presentations for hardware supplied on site by course organisers etc etc. They only ever have win and powerpoint. Does anyone know of a way of creating powerpoint compatible presentations under linux? Please do not suggest Star ffice (unless you have to) it scattered so many files everywhere when I tried to install it and then refuses to install because it says it is time expired and etc etc etc .
