HP deskjet400 problem in suse 9.0

Hi all, has anyone got a deskjet 400 to work with suse 9.0? I've tried using CUPS and plain old lpd (with which it used to work under suse 8.1), but get no joy. When I first boot the system the line feed goes, and it goes again when I try the test printing during configuration in Yast when I hit the 'stop' button as nothing happens with the print command. Any help appreciated. cheers, Bruce
