I also just finished installing 3.3.5 and had the same results. Prior to installing, I used yast to set DISPLAYMANAGER to console and rebooted. Startx scrolls indefintely asking for a Password. I set the DISPLAYMANAGER back to kdm and rebooted. X Windows is now okay. I updated three other boxes by rebooting to console, upgrading, and rebooting without changing DISPLAYMANGER and they upgraded okay. Still not sure what happened, but they are all working. Anyone have any idea what this means, or what can be done about it. Is there another way I should go about installing new versions of X, should I use yast instead, etc?
