An additional annoyance. I need to run Sun's version of java (1.2.x) for a program I have written. Blackdown's java 1.1.8 does not support all the methods of 1.2.x. I thus have chosen not to have 1.1.8 installed. However, I do have StarOffice installed. Every time I add something new or upgrade, Yast sticks 1.1.8 back in.
The script /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.alljava appears to be broken, it's what keeps recreating the "java" link to jdk1.1.8 in /usr/lib every time you run SuSEconfig.
Yes, it is broken. It does not recognize IBM java due to error in parsing package name. -Kastus
