First of all, sound really does like to be a module. I couldn't get sound up when I first got into linux. I read some awe32 how to that said sound HAD to be done as a module, tried that, and voila, sound. If you aren't getting midi even after compiling a new kernel with sound as a module, chmod +x /dev/sequencer, it might be that simple. good luck Steven Udell wrote:
Hey Dee, my AWE64 still won't do MIDI, even with OSS/Linux beta/normal and it won't do mp3s either nor .au's and stumbles on .wavs but it is good for XMCD tho..
