I need a little help, I'm trying to do some Web pages using CGI. I don't know where Apaches root directory for html is located nor the directory for cgi or if it uses the cgi extension. I am using SuSe5.1.
It depends on whether you have the secure server or not. It basically is in /usr/local/httpd. The html's go in /htdocs, and the cgi in /cgi.
also I have tried multiple times to download a file from the web source <A HREF="http://ftp://ftp.hsdi.com/pub/qddb/sources/hx-examples/"><A HREF="http://ftp://ftp.hsdi.com/pub/qddb/sources/hx-examples/</A">http://ftp://ftp.hsdi.com/pub/qddb/sources/hx-examples/ file quiver-online_tar.gz but it refuses to untar. Will someone else try and see if its just me?
Usually tar -zxvf filename will always work. Sometimes they are misnamed and are not tarred, then use gunzip filename.
Also, I can ftp to my Linux from the ftp in Win95 but not from the program Cuteftp. It connects and then hangs up. Messages are: User jim logged on STATUS:> Logon sucessful COMMAND:> Rest 100 and then I get a perpetual hourglass
The exact same thing happens for me and a few other posters. There is nothing wrong, except Cuteftp has a problem retreiving the index, who knows why? zentara -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
