Hi, I've been trying to find emacs on my system ever since I installed, but it doesn't seem to be there, even though Yast tells me that it has been installed on my system.
What is the problem?
A need to become somewhat familiar with the linux system and linux way of doing.... rpm -ql emacs-x11 | grep bin will tell you where the executable file resides. normally from the command line, 'emacs', would start your editor with an empty file. from the kicker, gecko -> editors -> emacs <alt><f2>"emacs" you don't mention which distro, desktop, etc..... Lots of guessing involved (crystal ball broken). -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2
