Hi, FYI, my problem is solved, it was the console version of yast which is not installing the scanner properly. I did it again with the GUI version. This did the job. The scanner works now. Karl Am 26.03.2013 19:29, schrieb Karl Sinn:

I have an Epson 1260 Perfection 1260 photo scanner, that has worked well until now. Since installing openSUSE 12.3, this scanner no longer works. Any suggestions to get it going? I need it NOW!!!.
tnx jk
Hi James,
I have a Perfection 1250 didn't try it since the install of 12.3. After your post I was curious and I tried. It didn't work.
yast recognizes the scanner and installs it, but xsane won't find the device.
sane-find-scanner says the following:
# sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the # result is different from what you expected, first make sure your # scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer.
# No SCSI scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that # you have loaded a kernel SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter.

I'll try to find a solution, any help/idea is welcome. Karl
