Depending on whether his last fix went into opensuse repositories or not, it might have one big surge of file io, when you do that, but then it should be done with.
What will Baloo do with sym-links in home directories? How about nfs-mounted filesystems pointed to by sym-links in home directories? In my case we've got tens of thousands of 4-GB binary files that I'm not sure we want to index.
