Also interestingly, other Linux distros don't do a separate /home folder, so apparently there are reasons both ways.
I use lot of data (photos and video files), so my work is a bit different.
When I can I use a different partition for /home, but it's not really important. What is important is to never use the same /home for various distros/installs
and I use an other, unique, very large partition for data.
/home is the home of . files, with the applications config. When version change, keeping config is scary, specially if go back and forth.

I really want to write an email with respect to this but it is getting rather long. I think I will just turn it into an article or PDF and put it only somewhere. Then I will also be able to have some rudimentary indexing and links to the various parts. I wish I had more wiki access. I'm trying to look for alternatives to Wikispaces, but the only one I come across is Wikidot, and all of its wikis are hideous. It is easy enough if you have a wordpress site you can publish on. I have one, or actually several, but I just can't use it to publish anything. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
