Nice!!! I can do that... Some of this is obviously not relevant, but I will show everything just in case... Nothing relevant in that log, at least not regarding desktop.

I think I get this because I use wicked and not the KDE NetworkManager... I have seen complaints about NetworkManager since I switched back to using wicked some time ago. It hasn't cause any real problems so far, and my network connections work fine.

Yeah this is another fire I am fighting, one of my Apache/Tomcat webapp connections has a problem. I don't think it has anything to do with this desktop issue, in fact I have tried disabling all my optional services, such as Apache and Tomcat to see if it made any difference.
