Thanks to those who so promptly answered my question about glib vs libc5 and YAST. I was interested to hear that SuSE is planing to move to glib. I take it that must be the newer library, and if it is not to complicated, I am curious to know what it offers that libc5 does not. (Only if somebody wants to explain) One real last question is this... I want to play RealAudio files and I have not since any other player than RealPlayer Gold for Linux. So I d/l and installed it as it said, but when I play a file, it only plays the first second of it. (Or often nothing at all) I have OSS version 3.7.1 (came with SuSE 5.2) and an Awe32 Value Edition card. Everything else works (soundwise) except for midis, because I have not bothered with loading soundbanks. What could be causing the problem with RealPlayer? Does it use midi soundbanks ( I doubt that)? Or even better is there a different player which will support .ram files?
