Well that was interesting. First, logged in as root, with Konq. I right clicked and selected Preview in KRPMview. Then I selected Install package with YaST (the only active option) and it prompted for CD-1. Then it installed the version on CD-1 !!!! The "use directory as source with YaST" option was not active. "Open with KPackage" was another option when one right clicks on the rpm file. However I have had trouble with Kpackage and have read that it is not recommended. So what do you think about trying KPackage (followed by SuSEconfig ? In any case I did not see an option "install w / yast" except as noted above. right click on the file and choose install w/ yast ? ( at least if you have 8.1 installed
