I wondered what others use for desktop search. That is, an indexing program for keeping track of documents on the local computer and providing a fast lookup. I know of Kat, but that has never seemed to work very well and development seems to have halted on the project anyway. Novell is pushing for Beagle, but that requires the installation of a whole load of Gnome stuff (I use KDE), Mozilla (I use Firefox) and Spamassassin. And the dreaded Nautilus.... 180Mb in all, which is all a bit much for me. Any other alternatives out there?
