Which addons do you have installed? Maybe it makes a difference. I routinely suffer your same plight, a stupid PITA that addons assume you're accessing the addon page with the browser or profile or PC you wish to install to. I find sometimes the right click does the job, other times not. When it doesn't, I open the addon URL in a different browser and try again, usually Konq, sometimes Chromium, sometimes a non-current Firefox, until I get what I want.
