Carlos says it won't work on a 20G file system, so if that's the case there isn't any point in me trying. I can't find anything which officially says what the minimum file system size is for btrfs.

'/var/tmp/btrfs' is too small to make a usable filesystem Minimum size for each btrfs device is 41943040.
No, it is not that. It is a policy used by YaST that disables snapshotting of btrfs filesystems smaller than certain size. Nothing to do with the minimum size for btrfs. I don't have a link for this, only my memory, sorry. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.2 x86_64 "Malachite" (Minas Tirith))
