I understand that the normal update process in Windows 10 installs a tool (PC Health Check on update KB5005463) that verifies if the upgrade to 11 is advisable (and if the answer is yes, Will nag you constantly to upgrade)
In my case the check tool invoked from the Win 10 VM produces a "no" answer on two counts relating to TPM and UEFI. But, as I understand it, VirtualBox versions >= 6.1.28 will meet the requirements (I'm at 6.1.30). As I said, there's plenty of advice out there on successfully installing Win 11 from scratch in a VBox VM, so it can be done. But there's nothing I can find about upgrading to Win 11 from within a running Win 10 as one can do on iron (and as I've done successfully with two Win 10 laptops, including one running Leap 15.2 in a VirtualBox VM). So the question remains, is there a pathway to upgrading Win 10 to Win 11 within a running VirtualBox Win 10 VM, or am I confined to taking the fresh install route only? -- Robin K Wellington "Harbour City" New Zealand
