./configure - qt-2.2.4 not found?

Hi, A month or so ago I had a problem with the configure where apps which required qt 2.2.* and above would give me the subject error. Now with 7.1 i have the same problem. My KDE2.1 system runs with absolutely no problem, everything works! /usr/lib/qt is linked to /usr/lib/qt-2.2.4 as is /usr/lib/qt2 but I still get this problem when I try to build an app from source.
