Do you have a resolv.conf in /etc ? It looks weird, it seems it used one, but then it says it can't find it.
Agreed! It IS wierd. There is a /etc/resolv.conf file.
Your /etc/ppp/ip-down is the original one? /etc/resolv.conf is readable?
Stock! Out of the box! And yes, /etc/resolv.conf is readable. I checked it after I saw the info in the logs. All it contains is the changes to the nameserver. Wait!!! I know it was there, along with /etc/resolv.conf.saved.by.pppd.ppp0, now they're not there. On checking, the file is /etc/ppp/resolv.conf, which I just copied and checked permissions on, and put in /etc. Now at least I won't have that line in the logs anymore. Thanks again!!!
