The compiler, you are looking for, is gfortran. If you downloaded the dvd iso, you have not retrieved it, because fortran is not included in the package collection. You need to add a Yast on-line installation source like ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/linux/suse/opensuse/distribution/10.2/repo/oss, for instance. After that, you can install the package you need. I use both Fortran 90 and Fortran 95 on openSuSE 10.2. I cannot understand the problem you are encountering. Can you explain better?
