I'm using Gaim ( http://gaim.sourceforge.net ) connecting with both an AIM account (Oscar protocol) and an ICQ account (also using Oscar) and everything has and still works fine as of 10:00 pm EST. Gaim 0.49 on a SuSE 7.1 box.
