But part of the reason for not downloading, for using IMAP, for using an ISP that is willing to run spam-detection for me, is that I have a bandwidth cap.
---- Major *ouch*. That's a reason why I don't have a portable phone -- on top of paying 50-75 bucks a month just for the privilege of having a "dial tone" (and network access), they want to charge extra for actually *using it* (duh!), and then more for traffic above caps. Grrr... For now, at least, w/my wired-ISP, on a business plan (about 2-3x a consumer plan) I don't pay extra for using the bandwidth I'm already paying for (Vs. the consumer plan starting cheaper, but would easily charge you 10X more/month for using all the bandwidth allowed by your connection. Ouch! Unfortunately, the US is moving away from having a middle class and going back to having a wealthy class, and the rest of us. I loved Peter Thiel's quote regarding his financing Terry Boleau (aka Hulk Hogan) in his lawsuit bankrupting Gawker Media: “If you’re a single-digit millionaire like Hulk Hogan, you have no effective access to our legal system, it costs too much.” US government & legal system not the best money can buy, but certainly the most expensive.
As I say, exceeding the cap is EXPENSBIVE.
