I am seriously considering moving from RHL7.2/3 to SuSe 8.2.
I have a test partition set up on my server for installing and testing new systems (be they upgrades or fresh-installs). But I always need to be able to boot to my "main" system.
RHL has always allowed me to skip the LILO/GRUB step and make boot floppy instead. That way I have a floppy-disk "key" to the test system and the main partitions of the disk, including the boot sector, are untouched.
Before I try an install of a completely new distro, I'd like confirmation that this will be poossible with SuSe.
My thanks for the confirmations! I am looking forward to giving SuSe a try. I have been a satisfied RHL user for years and only their new support plan is chasing me away. The 2 years security fixes for purchase of SuSe Pro are not optimal, but they are the most reasonable. I hope SuSe doesn't change their policy, also.
