Iptables doesn't use configuration files, all rules are set by scripts into the kernel. The following are essential for SuSEfirewall2 (I guess you're talking about that): /etc/sysconfig/SuSEfirewall2 # Configuration file by SuSE /sbin/SuSEfirewall2 # Script that sets the rules based on the conf.file above /etc/sysconfig/scripts/SuSEfirewall2-custom # any additional settings/rules you want to add Personally I've found YaST2 to be a superior tool for setting firewall rules for *most* cases.
