the picture is fine but there is no sound.
here i have good pix *and* good sound!!!
YAM (yet another mystery)! :-D
I have everything-new installed, ie mplayer for example was upgraded only this morning by zypper and so were some of the codecs, but I do not have sound; however the picture is excellent :-) .
probably won't work, but have you discovered if you right click on the speaker icon in the controls line as the bottom of the video frame...you should get a menu with setup functions....sorry i can't click up one right now (it is 8:00 AM in Denmark and nothing to watch)...maybe in there somewhere there is a 'switch' to turn on, or up, the mplayer's sound...(because, as mentioned earlier i have no control over volume with KMix/etc..
'"Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerfull than a locomotive, more incomprehensible than any uttering by George W Bush"....we give you the website of the Copenhagen Climate Change pow-wow'. Alright, already. Tried what you suggested. No sound - zilch, NADA - but a damn good picture as before. So then the little grey cells start to get agitated. What would happen if I right-clicked on the picture? would I get a menu? YES, I do get a menu. What does that little menu show? It asks me if I want to save the picture/video to my HD. I do that. And then vlc plays the video - *with sound* :-) .
