Yes. /etc/init.d/rc3.d contains a file called S11hylafax which is a link that points to the parent dir to a script named hylafax. I'm no expert here and don't pretend to understand the script completely but it looks on the surface like it's doing an "exit" on START_HYLAFAX="yes" which is the opposite of what my sense of the situation would have it be. Looks like maybe the script is broken. I may try backing up the original script and experimenting with it. Thanks, Geoff.
You are welcome. You could also just try removing that link entirely for the time being. You can always recreate it if you need to, but I think that getting rid of it may cure your problem because that will stop the system trying to start hylafax at boot-time.
