I took the printer to a friend's to have it tested under SuSE 9.0, it worked there and when I got it back home, i shall repeat that process to see what happens.
More details: The /sys/bus/usb dir is empty as well. usblp is loaded Is there anything in /etc/modprobe.conf that mentions usblp ? Curious as mine does not automatically load.
Running 9.0 as well. Regards Dan
Strange, did you also try the other suggestion from the other post with the line in /etc/fstab -- none /sys sysfs defaults 0 0 I started out with that line in /etc/fstab, but it told me that /sys was already mounted, so I commented it out. I have the following directories all with other directories and files under them, ls -lR /sys runs into over 2000 lines. barrabas:/ftp/jan04 # ls /sys . .. block bus cdev class devices firmware power barrabas:/ftp/jan04 # ls /sys/bus/usb . .. devices drivers SOME OF IT =============== /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usbfs: total 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 2004-01-28 13:21 . drwxr-xr-x 10 root root 0 2004-01-28 13:21 .. /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usblp: total 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 2004-01-28 13:26 . drwxr-xr-x 10 root root 0 2004-01-28 13:21 .. lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 68 2004-01-28 13:26 4-2.2:1.0 -> ../../../../devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:11.2/usb4/4-2/4-2.2/4-2.2:1.0 /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usbscanner: total 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 2004-01-28 13:21 . drwxr-xr-x 10 root root 0 2004-01-28 13:21 .. lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 68 2004-01-28 13:21 4-2.6:1.0 -> ../../../../devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:11.2/usb4/4-2/4-2.6/4-2.6:1.0 Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ....
