Like Sven mentioned Akonadi needs some time to recreate and read All mails
Why does it need so long for simple approx 900MB of old mails? Afair the former kmail from SuSE 10.3 simply took the old Mail-directory of the previous version and -bamm- there it was. Usable. Fast. ...
I found the directions below very helpful when migrating from one KMail version to another. This is quoted from The KMail Handbook
8.2 Clean start after a failed migration ...
I did all this and now at least KMail is able to start from scratch after it was not able to read the imported emails at all before. A "Start from Scratch"-Button would be very user friendly in this case. I imported the old mbox mails and the non-mbox mails into one directory. This is a nuisance since akonadi then starts doing it's stuff and using 40% of a Quadcore machine! I had to nice akonadi so that the machine gets responsive again. :-( Thanks Ricardo. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
