Greetings! I am a Linux newbie and I am planning to change my current operating system to SuSE 5.2. I have an e-mail account with AOL and one with CompuServe. For those of you that use Linux, do any of you use AOL or CompuServe as a provider? I asked both companies if they had interface software for Linux and neither has. Do you use a Windows emulator (Wabi?)? Is there an Internet provider out there that is Linux friendly? If so, do they have nodes throughout the US? I'll need to log in via a 202 area code. Thanks in advance for your help! Ert - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
I'm not sure about AOL, the last I used it they required proprietary software. This may have changed. CompuServe will probably allow you to connect, but I'm not sure how. I use EarthLink Sprint. They are so-so. Sometimes I get rudely shut off from the network , and sometimes the performance stinks. I really can't give a bench marked measurement of quality. The number I dial into is: (202) 478-0571. I'm in Prince George's County. (800) 395-8425 ex 5234 will get you to a customer support rep with whom I spoke at 22:50. I use kppp to connect. I can probably help you get set up. I'm not sure how much help their tech support will be for Linux.
