Hi
to upgrade kde with apt should I use update kde or kde3-stable or both ? What is the difference between the two ?
kde is sufficient. kde3-stable are the rpms which can be found on the kde ftp server. Most the time these rpms get out of date compared to the rpms provided via the apt component "update" or "kde" (which is kde from the supplementary directory.

Richard Thanks. That has got me updated to kde 3.1.3. Trouble is when I try to use the audio cd function of kde I get " protocol not supported audio cd" Any ideas what to fix ? Mike
