I have a Toshiba P35-S6112. It has a Mobile Pentium 4 with Hyperthreading. I've played with other versions of Linux on this machine (Ubuntu, Gentoo, Knoppix) that installed and recognized the processor, and with SMP enabled I was able to see two processors in the /proc/cpuinfo - even with the i686-SMP kernel installed by default via the installer. Nothing I've been able to do to OpenSUSE has been able to get me SMP (with or without Hyperthread support) running to where I can see two processors in /proc/cpuinfo. The latest pass was to install using the GNOME option, adding Kernel source and development tools. I ran through 'make menuconfig', 'make', and 'make modules_install install'. Now I'm getting a kernel pannic. Can anyone help me figure out what the dickens is going on?
