My USB Harddrive is not shown up on the desktop, which was before on KDE 3.4.2, and mountet CD/DVD's are not shown up with it names but only with DVD(dev/hdd).
... is there really nobody out there with the same Problem ?
I've just now upgraded to 3.43, but I donno what you mean by "not shown up on the desktop". I never had my CD or DVD or USB pen drive on my desktop.
I have no problem with the automounting of my USB drive as well as any DVDs I put into my DVD drive.
Shriramana.
If you right click on the desktop Configure Desktop-->Behavior-->Device Icons tab You can turn off/on which devices you want to see on your desktop.
Thanks for the Hint Ken, but i did not changed the configuration in any way and the Icons where shown before the update, and are not shown anymore after the update. In the Device Icon Tab the removable Devices are turned on for mountet and unmountet, but nothing ... At least they should be visible when you open konqueror with devices:/ , but nothing ... But they are mountet. When i take a look into /media there are my USB Partition with there Names, and there are DVD's with there Names. But on the Desktop DVD's show up only with DVD(/dev/hdd), not with there Names, and the USB Devices don't show up at all. When i now try to creat my on desktop Icon to /dev/sda1 KDE is telling me that there is no Entry for /dev/sda1 in the fstab... Of course there is non, thats what HAL and subfs is god for... And at least, what are we talking about, it was working before ... Greets Micha
