Lot of packages have some suffix or part of their name named lp150. What does this mean and why? Zypper dup showed me 600+ packages 'downgraded' probably due to alphabetical ordering or something for many packages when coming from leap 42.3.
Seems to be Leap 15.0
Yes, upgrading from 42.3 to 15.0 is a bit of a contradiction, software may be confused.
This we owe to Mr Brown, who, for no explicable reason, foisted the jump from 13.x to 42.x. Then the revision back to the historical sequence was a cure worse than the disease. Its a one time annoyance, and once you get your repositories straightened out and your upgrade completed, pretty much takes care of itself. You might have to allow vendor changes on your first update after upgrading, just to force a few straggler packages back Opensuse's Leap 15 repositories. I had a few of these but that was earlier in the beta process. When I mentioned them here, they wanted me to revert to 42.x and do the upgrade all over again, which I declined to do. -- After all is said and done, more is said than done.
