I am thinking of changing my phone from BT to NTL. The option of unlimited free Internet access is too tempting.
The free connection thing has yet to be proven. I've used NTL's 1p-per-minute-at-anytime connection service for several months now, and it's excellent: great throughput, never engaged once, Linux friendly (if not exactly supported). I registered for the free phone call service and have yet to receive the CD. I chased them up and they have 500,000 CDs to send out, and are managing a rate of 5,000 a week. That can't be right - or at least I hope it's not! When it arrives I'll see how it performs. If they've put the right number of servers in, based on my previous experience with their service, it should be OK. But don't change your ISP yet! :-)
My question is this: Has anyone managed to connect to NTL using wvdial or PPP and, if so, what settings were used?
Yes, using Kppp. It was so trivial I did it, then forgot about it. If you can't make it work I could send you a config file. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
