Hi .
well yet another nail in the coffin of KDE4 .
I have just been trying the so called activivities out and being polite about it , it is a total pile of crap , People had been asking for tha ability to have a different set of icons on each virtual desktop and what do we get
Say, this is another nail in the coffin, because this feature works better in KDE3....
Click on the Peanut zoom out click on another activity click on zoom in what the hell is that all about what is wrong with desktop 1 Ham radio icons Desktop 2 Office icons Desktop 3 games icons ect ect ect the offering so far is no better than shutting the session down and restarting as a differnet user will someone please LISTEN to what is being asked for and action it
There is a (ugly) plasmoid for fast switching between activities. In the long run this should be integrated with desktop switching, but currently it isn't, but implemented in parallel instead, to not break the desktop switching. Imagine the outrage thatwould have given...
So it is not really finished, but one can play with it.

I have to say i do not see the reason for not doing exactly what was asked for make it possible for each desktop to have a different set of Icons on it therefore making it quick and easy to use usage would be nmo different to the way it always has been . Waht on earth is this darn fastination with Plasmoids they are a pain i have just been playing with the LCD weather plasmoid on the laptop with KDE 4.3.x and you can not have it on just one desktop it has to be on all of them this is very bad you do not want an app (which is what it is) to show up on every desktop else what is the point of having multiple desktops to start with there is still so much to do in KDE4.x.x to get it anywhere near that the way it's going it will be KDE6.x.x before we get back to something as functional as KDE3.5.x Pete . -- SuSE Linux 10.3-Alpha3.
