Do you have a resolv.conf in /etc ? It looks weird, it seems it used one, but then it says it can't find it. If you don't have one, just make one, don't put anything in it, just make a blank resolv.conf and put it in /etc and see what happens. Soory if this isn't much, I have no other ideas why you would keep getting cut off.
