Hello
I installed Suse 9.3 on HP pavillion zv6131us (AMD 64). The installer detects a network card, and everything looked fine, but when the installer tried to connect to the internet (seeking for updates) it failed.
After that, i tried to change some parameters (DHCP, fix IP, for example) but nothing, the error when I tried to reach any ip (for example a dns server) is 'Destination unreachable'.
Any suggestions/help. Sorry if it is a basic one, I am trying to move from Windows to Linux.
I don't know if there is a way to validate the parameters of the network card or maybe if it is mandatory any patch or something.
Thanks.

How did you install 9.3? Via cd/DVD i presume as you dont have net. Is the NIC detected in the boot sequence? Is the network card module loaded? Can you detect/set the card "manually" via yast? What does dmesg, /var/log/messages and /var/log/boot.msg say? -- /Rikard --------------------------------------------------------------- Rikard Johnels email : rikard.j@rikjoh.com Web : http://www.rikjoh.com Mob : +46 (0)763 19 76 25 PGP : 0x461CEE56 ---------------------------------------------------------------
